Peru State MBB player Petersen receives full scholarship to Baylor to pursue masters degree – RIVER COUNTRY

(Peru, Neb.)—Earlier this spring, the former Peru State men’s basketball player Blake Peterson (Columbus) received a full scholarship to pursue his Masters program in Exercise Physiology through the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation at Baylor University.

Petersen earned a 3.75 GPA at Peru State College as a four-year student.

Here’s what Peru State’s men’s basketball head coach Bob Ludwig had to say about Petersen…

“We are thrilled that Blake has this well-deserved opportunity to continue his education at Baylor on a full scholarship,” Ludwig said. “The work he’s done both on the floor and in the classroom speaks volumes about who he is as a person. He comes from a great family who instilled in him a great work ethic from day one.”

Ludwig added…

“Blake is as independent and hardworking a student-athlete as I have coached. He helped establish a culture here as one of our first players four years after I arrived. I have no doubt he will continue to be very successful both academically as well as in his post-college career path.”

Dr. Kyle Ryan, Professor of Kinesiology at Peru State College, added this about Petersen…

“Blake is the ideal student-athlete I hope to enroll in the kinesiology major. Smart, mature, with a healthy dose of skepticism,” Dr. Ryan said. “He knew very well what answers I could provide and what answers I couldn’t and was confident enough to seek those answers elsewhere when needed.”

Dr. Ryan continued…

“When it came time to choose a graduate program, he realized that Baylor was an ideal choice and sought the advice of my counterpart, Dr. Shana Walsh, who had earned her PhD at Baylor. I have absolutely no doubt that Blake will succeed as he moves forward.Another strong graduate from Peru State College’s kinesiology program.
