Manu Lodging

Manu lodging: a rustic hut in The Manu Wildlife Center Deep in the heart of the Amazon, Manu doesn't boast five-star luxurious hotels, but rather provides nature in its most tranquil form. Lodging in Manu is recommended for those who plan to observe the large quantity of rare wildlife up close and personal. Due to their remote location in the Wilderness, Manu lodgings tend to be very small, accommodating no more than 30 rooms. But these small lodges provide extraordinary opportunity to view rare and exotic wildlife deep in the heart of Manu.

The Manu Wildlife Center

In December 2002, The Manu Wildlife Center was described as "..hands down the most intense wildlife experience..in Amazonia.." Located on the eastern coast of the Madre de Dios River, the Manu Wildlife Center is run by mostly members of the local community and generally hosts researchers and scientists, furthering their studies of the Amazon and its wildlife. The Center includes 22 private bungalows which include spacious rooms with private bathrooms and flush toilets, as well as mosquito nets and screened windows to protect from insects.

The complex also includes a dining room, bar, and lounge. Meals are served in the larger dining room and include a variety of Peruvian dishes including fresh vegetables, grains and meats. Vegetarian meals can always be made upon request. A bilingual natural guide is included in the price of booking and rates also include round trip transportation to and from the Boca Manu landing strip and motorized canoe transportation to and from the lodge itself.

The Manu Wildlife Center places you in photo-ready spots where you can catch close ups at macaw and tapir clay licks, oxbow lake, canopy platforms and other exotic and unique landscapes that give visitors and unparalleled view into Manu's Wildlife.
